Sigiriya Rock Fortress & Polonnaruwa

Begin with an early morning climb of Sigiriya Rock Fortress, accompanied by a specialist storytelling guide who brings the fifth-century royal citadel to life. In the afternoon, transfer to Polonnaruwa for a bicycle tour of the ancient medieval city’s most remarkable ruins, including the Gal Viharaya rock sculptures. Return to Heritance Kandalama for a relaxed evening.

Day 04

Cultural Triangle to Trincomalee

Drive east toward the coast, arriving at Uga Jungle Beach – a secluded beachfront resort where jungle meets the Indian Ocean. The afternoon is entirely at leisure, with the option to swim, explore the property’s lush grounds, or simply unwind by the ocean. Sunset over the water marks a beautiful transition in your journey.

Board one of the world’s most celebrated train journeys – a winding, mist-draped passage through tea estates and highland tunnels. Arrive in Ella and check in at 98 Acres Resort & Spa, a hillside sanctuary with panoramic views.
