Between July and October, Minneriya and Kaudulla host ‘The Gathering’ – one of nature’s great spectacles, as hundreds of wild Asian elephants congregate around the ancient reservoir to feed and socialise. It is the largest gathering of Asian elephants in the world, and it is utterly unforgettable.
